Not really surprising that the wheel has turned, however. Back in 79 or 80, when the original Battlestar Galactica ran for one season, was a hard-nosed sci-fi action series set in deep space and aimed at males. And yes, there were a couple of episodes of cheese, but for most of the shop was pretty hardcore sci-fi. (Now, Battlestar Galactica was actually re-done a year after the original 79th season with several members of the original case, but set on Earth, that the version 2 of BSG huge mistake and it was absolutely horrible). Why are TV programs when they completely change the concept a hit show? Who knows? The same thing happened with Buck Rogers, a great season, then the show is completely re-written and, viola! 2 terrible season.
Regarding the new version of the show (the 3rd) with Edward James Olmos, in line with the new concept to make it primarily a show designed to attract a predominantly female audience, the role of Starbuck was rewritten as a female, what a surprise! behaves just like the male version, (ie: he loves to fight, play poker, beat the male characters, cigars, chewing etc.). The special effects are very solid, and the ships look pretty credible, the show does not change the shows the old sense of adventure and exploration of numerous romantic encounters even if (you might start thinking you’re watching Desperate Housewives). I think the show made a big mistake in changing the origin of the Cylons. The new show has reviewed their source, and instead of humanity encounter a race machines out there in deep space life is not eager to remove any machine (A pretty cosmic mind), the new show which decides Suddenly the Cylons were invented EZLN human! What a boring idea, as common. It also does not help that have essentially taken away the alien “instead of the Cylons and they have completely humanized.
However, I found, to fast forward through the long series of samples of soap opera in this exhibition to get to something like science fiction, and what is the most important thing in sc-fi TV series, (it’s not two people going “how do you feel?” No, how you feel “or hormonal urges all), big sci-fi ideas are great, and great visuals. This show is not really cut, but in general, I will give it 2 ½ stars, especially for production values and special effects.

Many viewers have sung the praises of BSG rebuilt for years. Love the intensity of performance, and the Byzantine twists of this series. The 1978 version, while visually dazzling, was developed in a series from a TV movie last moment. As a result, was unable to provide well-written stories. Obviously there was room for improvement. With all this in mind, I tried to remake the benefit of the doubt, and like it. I really tried. . . but I can not. Here are some reasons:
The Look: Too gray with a dull, washed-out look that recalled the movie bleach bypass process in 1990. Sets and costumes were not only low-tech, were often no-tech. ” This show was visually as boring as his inspiration is visually appealing. No wonder that the resolution of the series was a refutation of technology Luddite. And if I see yet another hike through the dense forests of British Columbia. . .
Seem Us: What hoary cliche, countless sci-fi show over the years have been infiltrated by aliens. In addition to building suspense, it works because it saves costs. Sightings of the robotic Cylons really were rare. Even Ron Moore’s old show, “Deep Space Nine” infiltrated “exchanged”. So next time, the originality to give a chance.
The Tipsy Cameraman: I hated the drunk-bobbing handheld camera of “NYPD Blue” years ago. This BSG slavishly copied this technique.
“Maybe not” all (and what) reeked of rotten attitudes here. Humans are concerned about abuse of others, rather than survive their enemy. The only consolation is that the Cylons eventually turned out to be equally self-destructive.
Machismo: This series (which had a producer of Xena: Warrior Princess) had the girls strut, look relentlessly grim and bluster. Starbuck was the most odious example. Most of the male characters (Apollo, Billy and Baltar, for example) seemed strangely emasculated.
Music: Where did you go, Stu Phillips? His sweeping orchestral sound was replaced by Moody Blues. The new sound was adequate but boring.
Oh So British: America does not even make most TV series, this show seemed to rub his British / Canadian nature in our faces Yank . The ultimate insult for American viewers was placed on the British television program with the show.

This is not the real Battlestar Galactica !!!!!!!!!!!!! Why didn `t say Galactica or something? Think about it. Battlestar Galactica Real, Starbuck is a man, the Cylons is not made by human beings, but by a race from a planet that hates human beings. If you haven `t seen the real Battlestar Galactica, try and look at reality. This, Battlestar Galactica, from what I’ve seen, “is okay, but should call for something different. Watch and enjoy what the series is all true. Don `t get me wrong theres nothing wrong with this show. — They could have called Battlestar Galactica: in the future, or Battlestar Galactica: 100 years. Later — You know after the first Battlestar Galactica Ended, then tell what happened the next generation. That’s what they should in fact.

I really enjoyed the series. But how can anyone vote for a product that has not been released and will not tell you what you’re getting? The running time is advertised only 180 minutes. This is 3 hours. I hope it’s a typo. if it includes all 4 seasons and the movie, then it’s worth it. Otherwise, it is difficult to say what you give. Remember what he did to us for season 2 and season 4? I do not want to consider this product until the list of what is really understood. Also, is it just me, or has the cost of Blu-Ray jumped about $ 5 last year (about 30%!)? Someone out there is getting awfully hungry. . . and corporate greed is the reason our economy is near collapse.

a real kick in the ass fans that made them rich. this series should list with decks not more than $ 200
through economies of scale, pro-rata All-in-one-box MFG cost reduction, and the fact that these episodes are now ‘old news’ so to speak. Unbeleiveable
