Too Good to last
I watch very little TV shows found the networks just can't produce a show that keeps my interest like this one. It ended way too soon and left me hanging wanting the story to continue. HBO needs to seriously evaluate their fans before cutting a show short the way they did Deadwood I was honesty surprised they had the original series because I have never been inpressed by their network or theirs shows I lost interest very quickly. You messed up on this one HBO!

price to high
HBO is out of there mind charging this much for only 36 episodes.its a great show but this is a rip off.

MESMERIZING & COMPELLING
I loved the Deadwood Series and was so disappointed and saddened to see it canceled after the Third Season. (HBO, YOU WERE IDIOTS TO CANCEL THIS SERIES!) The acting was superb, and the writers awesome. The set design, costumes, language ... all very authentic. You got caught up in the gripping plots (based on actual events) and the tension of suspense kept you glued to your seat in eager anticipation for the next episode. I ordered the Complete Set from a third party off of Amazon and the DVDs arrived in perfect, A+ condition! Could not be more pleased with the show or the product, unless, of course, to see a Season Four!

A truly incredible series from start to finish.
I should probably begin my review of Deadwood by saying that I have never been a fan of the Western as a genera. For some reason, it normally fails to ignite my cinematic senses. For this reason, the series was already long off the air before I garnered an interest but am I ever glad I dispelled my earlier reservations. I am not a big fan of TV shows just in general, but after watching a few episodes over at my GF's parents house, I quickly came to amazon to scoop this series up.

If you are the type of person who cares about the opinions of professional film critics, a quick look around the major sites and you will be able to see that Deadwood received almost unanimous critical acclaim. For me, I either like it or I don't, but this series had me captivated after the first 20 min of the initial episode.

Perhaps there is some sort of primordial urge in me that enjoys the fantasy and vivid storytelling of the old west, but this ensemble cast hammers the plot lines home in striking fashion.

I am not the type of person who enjoys giving out spoilers as I do not want to tarnish anyone else's experience, but I can say that Deadwood has become my most favorite series in history.

I had heard there was originally plans to make 2 additional films to add closure to the various character arcs, but it appears as thought that possibility remains remote.

I highly recommend this to all except to those with small children as the episodes are riddled with profanity and violence, but I would argue rightfully so as to demonstrate the lawlessness and cavalier nature of the inhabitants of Deadwood.

Oddly enough, when I was visiting relatives in South Dakota last Summer, I was able to pay a visit to the actual town of Deadwood. A great deal of the old historic district consists of recreations since much of the town succumbed to fire prior to the beginning of the 20th century, but it was still fun for a history nerd such as myself.

If you are a newbie to the world of Deadwood, you really should give it a try. It certainly surpassed my expectations.

Deadwood
Watched the series on HBO and loved it, when I saw it offered on Amazon.com, I immeditaly ordered it and received the box set in about a week. We have enjoyed all ten discs and will watch again as soon as there is a slump in TV programs.

The movies are good the seller was bad
I wrote a review for this box set back in January. I ordered form the seller High Tech Edges. Many of the discs did not work!! I contacted the seller and never got any response. Do NOT buy from this seller eventually Amazon had to get involved and issue me a refund. If the movies had worked I would have been extremely happy with the product, because I love friends.

exactly what I was looking for!
It was exactly what I wanted. The discs are playing perfectly and the cases are in great condition. They were fast at shipping the DVD's and the condition they reported was the truth.

BAD!!!!!!
Some of the DVDs didn't work properly. They had scratches on them. Highly disappointed with the condition of the so called factory sealed DVD set.

Excelente!
Para los fanáticos de Friends, esto es un "must"... podría haber estado en bluray, pero excelente igual.

great purchase
Its friends, what more can you say?! It comes in a nice package and everything!

OKAY... BUT
The item came before it was promised but was not packaged well. It should have been put in a box as it was a heavy item. It was just packaged in an envelope and the casing for the cd's was bent in some places.

From a guy - Pretty Good!
Sex and the City is not a masterpiece. It is not the greatest show ever created. It is, however, generally good fun. The characters are a little uneven at times -- Carrie, for instance, seems to grow very little over the course of the show, while Miranda has a very satisfying arc and ends up a nearly completely different person.

I will say that the 6th and final season is *fantastic*, and well worth the build up. Watching the first movie with my wife without having seen any of the series, I thought it was decent. I've heard the second movie is ... not as decent. But I truly believe that if the two-part season finale had been released as a movie, it would have garnered critical acclaim. It's that good.

The actual box set is cute, nothing to gush over. The extras are sparse, but the episodes are all there. If you're looking for something to keep the insane Sex and The City fanatic occupied for years, you're out of luck, but really, it's what I expected.

Don't buy this set expecting a life changing event. But if you want to see a show that generally entertains, occasionally surprises, and always pushes boundaries, it's worth picking up.

Sex and the city complete series
I misssed several episodes at the beginning so I bought the whole Collectors giftset so I could see it from the start.

Once I started watching it I had to view the whole series over many nights. It was great to see how the series evolved especially Samantha's role in this excellent series. No time to write more, I watching the whole thing through again....................

Love it!
It's the best thing you can get, if you are into Sex&theCity. And even if you have no time to watch it right now, it's like a design object!

Sweet as a Cosmopolitan!!!
Absolutely amazing packaging! A big puple velvet book containing all the season of SATC plus an extra disc that's impossible to get outside this collection. Top notch quality collection!!

No show captured the eccentricities of New York like the Larry David-created sitcom Seinfeld. Helping to define America’s view of New Yorkers, the series gained endless fans over its nine season run. Though it wasn’t the first show to assert the rudeness of Gotham’s citizens, its characters are selfish to a fault–not that there’s anything wrong with that. Great Set
If you are a Seinfeld fan, this is the collection that you can't live without. I've always enjoyed, but this set gives so much depth. From the incredible episodes to the "coffee table book", I love it.
Thanks Amazon

Awesome Package
I originaly wanted to purchase this set but I received it as a birthday gift instead. The series is awesome. I love how it comes with all the episodes. The coffee table book included is also great because it gives a short description of all the episodes, incase you don't remember something. Finally I can watch any episode I want anytime and with no commercials. One more thing, the whole series is neatly packaged in a good sized box no more bigger than a shoe box so it doesn't take up very much space. This set truly is the best. Love it.

Seinfeld "Is Complete"
Just a quick review - Seinfeld is one of my favorite shows from TV. After it arrived we started watching it when there wasn't anything on cable, and Seinfeld is addicting! There are so many unforgetable show - you will enjoy it. It brightens one's day!

A must have for every die hard fan!
You wont be disappointed! A lot of insight into the making of the show and several extras you don't get in syndication! Example: Did you know that Jerry Stiller wasn't originally cast as Frank Costanza?

What's not to love?
This set is as well done as the series. Having been a Seinfeld fan for years it is nice to have all the episodes plus the "extras. The set is very nicely boxed: there is a commemorative book that has some information about each episode, a sheet with a table of contents like listing of all the episodes, and the DVDs are in two binders, each disc in its own tray (less risk of scratching as with some other TV series DVD compilations). Each DVD offers the option to watch the episode alone, or with "Notes About Nothing" which is script on the screen throughtout the episode that gives further detail about the episode, the cast, the set, or background on whatever is being discussed on screen. This latter piece will probably be helpful for future generations watching the show that may not be aware of the events that were current and discussed at the time. Each DVD also has "extras": commentaries by the cast and staff on certain episodes, deleted scenes, bloopers, advertisements that were televised to promote the show at the time it was on (before syndication), interviews with the cast, writers, NBC and Castle Rock officials, and "inside looks" where cast and/or writers give insight into the development of that episode-a little background on how it was developed, obstacles, difficulties, etc. In summary, this is a very well done, comprehensive offering of the Seinfeld TV show. I would not have purchased it at full price, but it was an amazing deal on one of Amazon's deal-of-the-day offerings.

Battlestar Galactica blu-ray set
The series is even better than I remembered - no comercials to cause you to miss the plot lines, 1080p video and dolby 5.1 surround sound. If you were a fan, this set will not disapoint you in any way. Every object and person is so very clear. I am seeing things I never saw when this was on TV in HD. Gotto go and watch the next disk!!

Awesome! So say we all!
Simply the finest science fiction I have ever had the pleasure of watching. I grew up in the early 80s eagerly watching reruns of the original Battlestar Galactica. I feasted on Buck Rogers, ST TOS, ST TNG, I remember the miniseries 'Something is Out There' and even Moonbase Alpha. So, I am an unapologetic, huge sci-fi nerd who fiercely believed that no show could ever do equal to or better than 'Babylon 5'.

Battlestar Galactica consists of the four-hour pilot miniseries and then four seasons followed by 'The Plan' (not included in the DVD collection). I highly recommend watching it at least in HD if you can. We watched if the first time through on an old-fashioned tube TV and are now watching the entire series again--in HD. It really is a whole new show--visually--if you watch it in HD. While Bear MacCreary's enchanting soundtrack is worth listening to all by itself.

Let's get right to the ***Spoiler Alert***

As a fan of the original BSG, I had certain standards that needed to be met. Two of my favorite things was the actual structure of the Galactica and it's commander, Lorne Greene's Adama. So, the new BSG right away had a hard act to follow, and I knew I would be uncomfortable seeing a different ship or Adama.

They could not have done better than Edward James Olmos as Bill Adama, who, hands down, remains my favorite character of the series. You got to love those sad droop-dog eyes of his that he gives everybody. His face is just legend.

Then you get some of the old characters revisited, Starbuck, Apollo, Tigh, Baltar, Boomer, and a whole new set too including, Billy, Helo, Dualla, Gaeta, Leoben, Cavil, Sam, Doc Cottle, etc. Maybe I am just easily impressed but--I thought everybody's acting was amazing throughout most of the series. It's hard to think of a character I could have done without. Everyone who gets screen time is game-on and convincing.

My spouse and I watched this straight through over the course of about two weeks--and almost needed some therapy for mild PTSD. Reality never lets up for the crew of the Galactica, starting with the first post-miniseries episode, '33', with the Cylons jumping after the ragtag fleet every thirty-three minutes. Knuckle-biting. The stress hits everyone--even the viewer.

One of the things that I love so much about Babylon 5 is that the cast is flawed. There are no Mary-Sues in Babylon 5. Subjects like rebelling against the State, addiction, family loss and prostitution were broached and played with a little. It was a very refreshing change of pace from the good, clean-cut characters of Star Trek.

BSG takes that to an entirely different level. Like in real life, everyone in BSG has a problem. They may be gifted, talented, attractive or successful, but they are -all- flawed. From the Admiral and the President on down to the lowliest knuckle-dragger.

Issues tackled in this show include but are not limited to:

Alternative medicine. Kamala extract fills in for medical marijuana and is useful for treating pain.
Addictions to or recreational use of an assortment of substances including stims, booze and tobacco.
Homicide for varying reasons.
War crimes tribunals.
Labor unions and workers rights.
Maintaining government and freedom in times of extreme crisis.
Birth control and access.
Love, lust and recreational sex.
Marriage and divorce.
Right to refuse medical treatment.
Guerrilla insurgency, sabotage and patriotism.
Blatant military recruitment and government propaganda.
Peace movements and civil disobedience.
Depression, suicide, psychosis and other mental illness.
Religion--at least two different regions are presented in this show, along with agnosticism and atheism.

--All handled amazingly well in my opinion. I wanted to serve on the Galactica before the miniseries was over.

Other thoughts. Doc Cottle is the coolest doctor in science fiction--ever. Show includes some amazing father-son tension between not-so-goody two shoes Apollo and his old man. The chemistry between Roslin and Adama is one of the most precious interactions in the show. There is a moment when Starbuck is being kept by the creepy psychopathic Leoben in a doll house and she is eating her steak while glancing over at the recently deceased copy and she wipes her mouth with her bloody hand-- if you've seen it, you know about the scene. It's really just amazing.

It should be noted that the CGI is topnotch and although heavily used--never abused. The backdrops and ships are lovingly detailed. There is something totally steampunk in how the venerable and aging Galactica relies on it's old model Vipers and corded phones and lack of computer networks yet we still have some classic sci-fi devices like FTL jumps, anti-gravity that is never discussed and some pretty good futuristic technology--but no energy shields, turbo-lasers or transporter-beams.

They really downplay the tech parts making it seem like the culture and reality of the people of the Twelve Colonies could very believably be us in the not-so-distant future. Throughout most of the show, there is this pressure of Cylon extinction overshadowing everything--but it quickly becomes obvious that the remaining humans may not be able to survive themselves.

BSG makes people act like they do in real life and one of the overarching themes is--do we humans really have the right to inherit the earth and the galaxy for that matter? What makes us so good? There are more than a few times when you want to root for the Cylons when you see the survivors make one blundering, self-defeating mistake after another.

After we watched the ending for the first time, my spouse said "I'll never be able to watch Star Trek quite the same again." --I agree. This show will spoil you for other sci-fi which will seem quaint and innocent if not naive after watching BSG.

Oh yea, the packaging is bad, blah blah, We didn't buy it for the packaging. We made our purchase the week after the Universal's new packaging deal expired. Frak! So we put our DVDs in a plastic DVD binder in order of the seasons. It prevents the DVDs from getting scratched up as happens when you take them in and out of the stupid cardboard DVD holders that came with the box.

I've lectured enough--gods damn it. I frakkin love this show. You will too.

Best tv show I've ever watched...fancy packaging
It seems most of the negative reviews on here are in regards to the packaging and lack of organization in the discs, as they don't have an episode list. Also, the discs are kind of cheaply put in the case. But this should not detract from the real reason you should be purchasing this...FOR THE FRAKKING TV SHOW! If you are only concerned with the packaging in this purchase, you have more problems than I can help you with here.

So where to start? I have watched this series twice. I watched it once by myself while deployed at my unit. Then after falling in love with the show, I felt compelled to spread the love and show someone else. So I showed it to my fiance. She doesn't play video games, doesn't like SciFi shows, etc. But after watching the first 10 episodes, she was hooked. She was dragging me out of bed to continue watching the show to finish it.

The acting, the story, the surprises, the soundtrack, just EVERYTHING about this show rocks. In Bluray, it looks amazing. It also sounds amazing. If you have a subwoofer, expect to have the entire room shaking. Bear McCray, the composer, uses a lot of drums and bass in his music...and it really gets you immersed in an audio scale..

So there you have it, this show will immerse you with its beautiful images in high def, immerse in full 5.1 surround DTS which sounds amazing, and terrifically put story line. There is a reason this show is award winning throughout the world...and you NEED to add this series to your shopping cart. It is well worth the purchase.

Set is missing seasons/gives you 2 of one season
The 1 star is NOT because I don't like BSG. No way. The 1 star is because I ordered this product while it was on sale, specially through Amazon, for 0. Quite the deal right. I don't know if it was just my particular product or what (and I would venture to say no since there's a message up on the product page right now saying it's under review and not sold by Amazon right now due to complaints) but my set is missing season 3 and instead I have a second copy of season 2. PISSED!!

excellent
one of the best, simply a must have... it was great form the begining to the end. The quality was great too.

Believe the reviews on the packaging
I thought, "OK, some of the disks come scratched, but how bad can it really be?"

The answer is, "Shockingly bad."

This packaging should go down in DVD history as one of the dumbest ideas ever. DVDs are sandwiched into cardboard sleeves that only cover half the disc. This is not enough to hold the discs in place during shipping, so they fall in and out of the sleeves, getting scuffed in the process. Some managed to get serious radial scratches, which is about the worst thing that can happen to a DVD.

Whoever designed this packaging should be fired.

I am going to try playing all the discs before sending this back because I have no confidence that I won't get exactly the same result with another set. The packaging just about guarantees damage.

You'd be better off downloading episodes from torrent sites than buying this and that would serve MGM right. The price is good, but I would gladly have paid more for decent packaging and undamaged discs.

quality of DVD
I have watched 10 DVDs from the items. One DVD has problem in playing since it has physical damage. I expect a better quality control when I purchase it from Amazon.

Only 4 intact discs out of the ENTIRE SET
Bought these at Fry's. They go back tomorrow. Out of the entire set, there were only four discs that didn't *arrive* with scratches; a couple of them only slightly, most of them badly. The very first disc wouldn't play right out of the box; it began stuttering about two hours in on the first play. The worst discs actually look like somebody dropped them in gravel, then stepped on them a little.

That's almost a 93% damaged disc rate out of the box.

MGM should recall this collection ASAP.

Awesome series, returned due to every 3rd disc being damaged
I received series as gift and hoped they fixed this problem by now. As of mid July, this was not the case. I checked a few at random and noticed that every 3rd disc was damaged. This happens to also be the one at the bottom of each cardboard sleeve. Wish I had time to spend ordering a second set and reviewing the 9000+ minutes of video. I would also be willing to spend a little more to have these verified before sending. Would be worth an extra 10-20 dollars to have someone else make sure I am not getting a bad product. Hopefully they will listen to us and fix this or just provide all of them in a simple spindle that guaranteed quality with no frills.

Love the content, but the packaging sucks!
Buyers beware! It is a great deal on a great series, unfortunately, the packaging is horrendous. Upon opening the box, half of the DVDs had fallen out of the poorly designed sleeves. Almost every DVD had scuff marks, some worse than others, not a single DVD looked new.

I had read other reviews about the packaging and decided the price was worth the risk. I ran the really bad DVDs through a DVD doctor, and promptly placed them in a CD/DVD case. You will not want to store this set in its' original container. I am about half way through season 5, so far only one episode has skipped. I did have one DVD that would not play on an older DVD player. It did, however, play on my ps3 and newer BLUERAY player.

six feet under
i loved this show when it was on hbo i am so glad i bought it because it is just a great show.

A study of life and death
I don't have HBO, so I come to all their series late. Six Feet Under caught my eye initially as a re-run on some random cable channel. I was hooked enough to borrow the discs from my library and watch all the episodes. What a wonderful example of the trial we all go through in death and in life. I liked (and disliked) all the main characters at one point, but there is no mistaking their humanity, the way that sometimes we too are all afraid or eager or disappointed in our life and struggling to be who we really want to be or just trying to figure things out.

The ending (which I won't spoil here) is one of the best series endings I have ever seen. It is sad, it is touching, and it is 100% appropriate to the show and it's subject: the Fisher family and death. I would watch this series over and over for it's love, it's family, and it's frank discussions on death and how we all deal with it.

best birthday gift ever
My husband has been saying for years how much he missed the HBO show Six Feet Under. So when his birthday came around I immediately remembered how much he liked the show. when he opened the complete series he nearly fell off the couch with excitement. The set is beautiful, it opens up like and accordian folder with all the discs in the folders. And the photos, the artwork....it's fantastic. We're currently in the middle of season 2 and it just keeps getting better.

The whole six feet
I was never very interested in this show for a few reasons. First, the name of the show made it sound a little morbid, and second, I am not a subscriber to HBO. I began watching the reruns on UniversalHD which were severely cut for cable television. My interest in the show was almost immediate. As I looked online to purchase one season at a time, I came across the complete series which was actually cheaper on Amazon that each of the five seasons individually. The packaging is great and resembles a picture book. It has photos of many of the monumental scenes from each season on the pockets that store the DVDs. Also included is an "In memoriam" booklet that details the lives of each of the main characters beyond the series' finale.

The series itself is one of best written and directed programs that I have ever watched, especially season 4, my favorite. There are always ongoing sub plots that are so well incorporated into the episode that they never take away from the story of the person who has passed on and whose funeral will take place during the episode. The series' finale was without a doubt one of (if not the) best endings of any show ever. Watching some of the DVD extras was really incredible. The directors take us behind the scenes to show so many of the special effects that were used throughout the series. All in all, it was some of the best entertainment money that I have ever spent. My only regrets with this purchase (and the series itself) are: first, that I waited so long to open my mind enough to buy it and second that the series had to come to an end.

Awesome Series!
This is a fantastic series! Both intriguing and disturbing, but that is what makes it great! I can watch this over and over again and still pick up something new in the characters, plot, etc. I highly recommend this series to those that like to be kept on their toes and enjoy watching something completely off the wall! :)

Another series that ended too soon
It was good to get the complete series in one package so I could see the whole story line in sequence. I've been a fan of all of the Star Trek series and although they did take some liberties for the most part they stayed true to the theme of Star Trek in general I could have watched several more seasons had they been available.

Great product... Solid deal!
If you love the series (as I do), you'll really love this set! It's a wonderful tribute & a more than complete production! Put simply, I love mine... You should too!

Look carefully for a set with a great price (as I did), and you'll be happy with this purchase as well!

Excellent value, space-saving package!
I must admit I was a little surprised when I picked up my package at the post office. I'd been expecting a bulky box holding four individually-packed seasons of "Star Trek: Enterprise," such as I'd seen in stores (for a considerably higher price). Instead this package appeared to contain only a single season. Curious, I opened it while still at the post office. Inside was a silver box reminiscent of the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" release from a few years earlier. I opened this, and there were all 27 DVDs in gauzy cloth-and-plastic sleeves. The entire four-season run of the series, all neatly crammed into a box the size of a single season's worth of episodes. It's very different from the picture shown, but any attempt to reduce packaging & clutter is fine by me!

This set appears to be a Chinese-made product intended for a Canadian market. The text on the package is slightly "off" in ways that Trekkers will notice, despite the fact that some details are the obvious result of a good deal of research and love for the series. Naturally, I was a little worried; what if the episodes were dubbed into French, with no English dialogue track? My Universal Translator hasn't been invented yet!

Fear not. These are the episodes I'd seen and enjoyed on TV, with the same aspect ratio and English subtitles if desired. There are also foreign-language audio and subtitle tracks available. As an added bonus, some episodes include optional deleted scenes.

My only "complaint" is a mild one: there is no table of contents, either in the box or printed on the discs. As I'm watching the episodes, I'm writing one up on a sheet of loose-leaf paper so I can locate particular favorites later with ease. Frankly, I doubt that this minor inconvenience would be considered a problem to any serious fan of the show. After all, this is the entire series, formatted properly, in a package that won't require moving to the Captain's quarters to find room for it.

Ahead... Warp factor one.

Welcome to the series that totaly RUINED the Star Trek Canon
First off, I am a HUGE Star Trek fan and always have been. This series was a Joke! The writers knew about Star Trek as much as Dr McCoy knew about klingon anatomy.
First off...Archer.....where did they get Archer? Star Trek the Animated in 1973 in a episode said April was the very first Enterprise capt. I mean WTF!!!!!!! How can you totaly, completely ignore a existing story and history line?
Then, the episode where they came up with the "non interference" was a joke! You had a race dying from a disease and they withheld the medicine saying nature outta just take its cource and we shouldnt interfere, laughable. So Kirk never should have gotten the Ritallen in the episode "Requruim for Methesula" or they should just have let the klingons die out when paxis blew up. Whatever. The show was a mess. The only thing good about this series was the final 3 episodes where they were in a Alternate Universe, had they satrted with that, it wouda been a classic, instead it's just rubbish.
This show could have been so great but I really think the writing and just the look and feel and show stunk. The writing was so lame that they had to make a continuing boring story line of the Zindi.
Fans hated the show and thus was cancelled 4 years early than projected.
Oh well.

Watch it in HD
Star Trek Enterprise is a great series looking back on it. I remember when it first premiered, it started off a bt rocky but episodes got better, for the most part. UInfortunately, I (among millions of others) fell out of viewer-ship for some reason and the show was cancelled.

Recently, I rediscovered the show on HDNET. It's broadcast in high-definition and without commercials. The special effects are quite simply amazing in HD and it seems like an entirely new show to me.

Take a look at the show on HDNET before you buy this. After watching it in HD, you may want to wait for it on BluRay.

Gilmore Girls DVD Set
I love the Gilmore Girls and I love the set. It is in adorable packaging, BUT....
if you buy this be very careful. I had several DVDs in the first set I got that would not play or seemed to have nothing on them. There are seven seasons to go through and by the time you hit a bad dvd, it may be six months down the line. The second set I was shipped when I returned the first had the same problem on different discs. I am on my THIRD set now! We had to watch the DVDs as fast as we could, to make sure they work properly so they could be returned if I had to.

I must say Amazon has been great in just shipping me a whole new set each time at no charge, but I have to wrap up the old one and drop it off at the UPS store to send it back. Return shipping was free, but still a hassle. Then you have a whole new set that you need to check all the DVDs that you already watched in the first set! Not fun...
Great show, I am a huge fan, but I think this was very bad manufacturing of the actual DVDs. There is a really cute episode guide included along with another book of "Gilmorisms" and we love the set, just be aware of this problem if you want to purchase it.

I love everything about this show...except for that logan character..
The box set itself is pretty cool. The booklets & all the pictures are awesome. The show itself kind of dies down after season 5, & season 7 is definitely dull, & full of scenarios that were already seen throughout the rest of the series. And the worst part of the show: Logan! I do not like the character, the drama he brings, nor the actor who plays him.

Gilmore Girls Collection Better?
This dos'nt sound very Different then just buying Seasons one by One!
Or is it? Is there any difference?

Ultimate Fan Collection
Nothing says "I heart Gilmore Girls" like a huge, padded plastic carrying case. If you buy this collection, and every die-hard fan should, just know that you will be announcing your devotion to the world if you have nowhere to store the box. While the set it somewhat larger-than-life (it probably won't fit on your standard DVD rack), it is paradoxically space-saving. The inside is packed with every single disc in its season's slim folder. The book that outlines the plot of each episode is the same as the "liner notes" in the traditional DVD boxes, but the format is much more enticing for a fan, as you can literally take out your book and recall the plot of the entire series. Lastly, there is a book of "Gilmore-isms," which demystifies many of the pop culture references that are made constantly on the show. These are set up alphabetically, which I argue is not the best format for a person watching the series from disc 1 to disc 42; however, its encyclopaedic presentation results in a fun companion book. If you could watch Lorelai and Rory's journey over and over again, do yourself a favor and buy this set. You will be geeked out.

Now we just need the follow-up movie to be produced, yes?

Gilmore Girls: The Complete Series Collection
My order came faster than expected and that was nice. However, after viewing several of the dvd's, there are skips in some of them. This was disappointing because they were advertised as good as new. I don't think I would order from this person again.

ALLY MCBEAL COMPLETE SET
LOVE THIS DVD SERIES. VERY ENJOYABLE WATCHING ONE OR TWO EPISODES AT A TIME FROM THE BEGINNING AND REMEMBERING WHY I LIKED THE SHOW IN THE FIRST PLACE. AND NOW THERE ARE NO COMMERCIALS.

I Love Ally!
This was one of my favorite shows when it was on tv. So, I got the complete set recently. After watching the first episode again I remembered why I loved this show so much.

Every episode is hilarious, but still brings emotional and serious issues with it as well. This is what makes this show so great. All of the original music I remembered is here. And it is great to see all of the musical numbers again from the bar that the cast hung out in.

I love all five seasons, but I think the first four are the best. By season five some of the original cast were gone (sometimes without explanation) and a lot of new people are introduced. There is a whole disc with behind the scenes specials which was enjoyable as well.

I am so glad this show was finally released on dvd. My mother came to visit recently and had never seen the show. We watched a few of the episodes and she couldn't stop laughing.

wouldn't play on my blu ray
I purchased this in DVD format so I could watch it on both my DVD player which is in my bedroom and my Blu Ray which is in the living room, choosing either one at my leisure. I'm not the most technologically inclined but since all my other DVD's (and we have hundreds, literally) play on both, I thought it stood to reason this would too. It only plays the FBI Anti-piracy warning and freezes right there. Fortunately, it does play on my good old fashioned DVD player so I don't need to exchange them. This review is for anyone else who is as technologically ungifted as myself and is thinking that all DVD's will play on a Blu Ray machine. It is a Samsung and was a Christmas gift so I know very little about it. If someone has been able to play it on their Samsung Blu Ray, please let me know. I have a hard time believing it is my machine's problem as it still plays all my other DVD's...even the old ones.

I won't stand to be disparaged!
Ally McBeal is by far my favorite show! The writing is awesome along with the acting & Vonda and Danny's music! It is great to watch it commercial free on thos great DVD set! If you like Ally! BUY IT!!!

Ally McBeal Series ROCKS
I have waited so long for this series to come out on DVD. Thank you. Music is original, color is good. Glad to have it!!!!

Great boxed set for a great series
They may have gotten skimpy on the quality with the season 5 disks, but this complete blu-ray collection is AWESOME. There are of course easter eggs/hidden info inside. This is perfect for a true lost fan.

WOW!
Lost: The Complete Collection [Blu-ray]
This is an amazing complete collection of the entire series. I was on the fence about buying it for a while, not really wanting to spend the 0 for something that I have already seen. But then I thought that it's only a little over per blu-ray disc and that's not bad at all. And now that I have it I am very happy with my purchase. Actually for me to buy the complete series like this made a lot of sense. I didn't become a fan of the show until the final season. I caught up by watching the first 5 seasons on Hulu. Needless to say, the Blu-Ray discs are a major improvement (plus I get all the bonus material). Stunningly beautiful, especially for a TV show. Being set in the lush, tropical location of Hawaii certainly helps there. One drawback though is that some of the darker scenes tend to be a little grainy. I turned the brightness level down on my TV and that seemed to help. I am now in the process of rewatching the entire series. I have to say that things make a lot more sense the second time around. I really can't get enough of this show. It is intelligent, thought provoking, beautiful, and emotional. The episodes just seem to fly by. There's never a time where I even think about pushing the fast-forward button. LOST ranks up there as one of, if not the, best television show of all time.

That takes care of the blu-ray discs and the show itself. As for the packaging, I give it an A+ as well. All of the materials are of high quality. It comes in the pyramid shaped box that you see in the picture. The picture there really doesn't do it justice though. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is made of a thick cardboard and is coated with a rough, stone-like texture. And it has a good feel and weight to it. There are many cool little extras inside the box as well, from the Senet game that comes with real black and white stones to the small metal Dharma flash(black)light. Then there are many "secrets" hidden in the packaging. I found a few of them, but I am still looking for the instructions to the Senet game. All in all a very well put together product. You can see that the developers really put some time and thought into designing it.

Another LOST Set For The Ultimate Fan
If you've been holding off getting the DVDs until the show ended then you might as well get this set cause at roughly a season at Amzaon's current price (8.99) it's a pretty decent deal.
But if you already have the DVDs and aren't a huge fan of the show then you might want to reconsider. Much like the "Season 5 Dharma Orientation Kit" there isn't much here that isn't going to excite anyone but the ultimate fan. Luckily for me, I happen to be one.
I was a little disappointed in the "secret message from Jacob" that was in the Ankh at first, but it turned out to be a fun puzzle to solve that revealed some interesting information (not answers). I also loved finding the bonus disc (it is same disc that came with the season 6 pre-order from BEST BUY) because of the way it was hidden. The Black Rock journal entry answered a question that was well worth the trouble deciphering the handwriting and the black light torch shows some cool hidden secrets. I'll never play the Senet game but it's still a cool prop to have (you'll have to do some hunting for the instructions on how to play).
Still, all I've listed as features I enjoy will just frustrate most casual viewers who were hoping for MORE(or all of the)answers to unanswered questions. I like it, it's a cool set, and if your a fan who loved the series from "Pilot" to "The End" then you probably will too. Anyone else, should probably just pass on it.

Content great, box stinks, literaly
On nearly all accounts, the Lost Box Set does not disappoint. I'll leave it to other reviewers to praise the series itself. My qualm resides with the extreme smell of the box the game board and DVD case: they all radiate a nauseating smell. After a few days outside, the smell is still overwhelming.

Lost Complete Seasons 1-6 Blu-ray.
I am confining my review to the Lost Complete Seasons 1-6 Blu-ray set. I'll leave comments regarding season six and the ending to others. Those are matters of personal likes and dislike.

The biggest positive is that the blu-ray discs were well done, although I haven't had time to watch them all, as of yet. Nor have I had time to view the extras. The Senet game looks interesting. The white and black rocks are a nice touch, and the ankh isn't as bad as another review stated. The appearance and texture of the set is quite nice and you can tell a lot of thought went into it.

That brings me to the biggest negative. The way the discs are packed is the worst I've seen since getting the complete West Wing set. These discs are far too valuable to be packaged in slide-in cardboard sleeves. What were they thinking? Having spent almost 0 on this set, I now have to spend another for proper plastic cases. The one aspect of this set reduced my rating from 5 to 4 stars.

Very Pleasantly Surprised
As near as I can tell, never in the rich and illustrious history of domestic animation has there been a series that's managed to do nearly everything well yet remain as unpopular as Stargate Infinity. And this coming from an individual who was in the theater back in October of 1994 when the lackluster original film debuted then followed along with great interest throughout the various live-action television spin-off series.

Truth be told, I, like MGM, came away from the first motion picture quite convinced the franchise was going to die within the same project that birthed it and who knows, it certainly looked to be the case for the three years that followed until Stargate SG-1 hit television airwaves as an official sequel to the film. I'll be quick to admit that while SG-1, in my opinion anyway, improved upon the movie's promise, there was still an undeniable degree of quirkiness, some plot hole issues, and just enough fluff to prevent it from hitting full geekdom supremacy. From there was born what I've considered the most impressive of the live-action shows, 2004's Stargate Atlantis followed by the most recent and perhaps darkest incarnation of the mythos, 2009's Stargate Universe.

What a lot of Gate aficionados ("Gaters") don't realize however is that amidst all of the live-action success enjoyed by the franchise, MGM and DIC teamed up in 2002 to produce an animated version of the license that we'll be taking a look at in the following critique.

Stargate Infinity premiered in September 2002 as part of 4Kids Entertainment's FOX BOX Saturday morning line-up and went off the air June of 2003. It ran a fairly impressive 26-episodes but unlike most animated efforts, which consist of 13-episode seasons, Infinity is considered a single season.

Domestic DVD releases actually come in two forms; the first of which came out shortly after the show was cancelled directly from DIC that consisted of only the first four episodes. It was looking like that could well have been the best Region 1 fans were going to get of the short lived program until May of 2008 when Shout Factory secured the rights then promptly brought out a full 26-episode boxset. After much deliberation, I slapped down the MSRP and added this, the complete collection into my virtual cart.

Coming in at a runtime of 600-minutes, Stargate Infinity: The Complete Series spans 4 discs which come housed in a pair of thin packs (within an outer cardboard slipcase). Extras are limited to an animated Stargate effects test, animated character walking models and a few Shout Factory trailers on the first disc.

The story takes place roughly 30 years after the events of SG-1 and follows a ragtag unit Stargate Command (SGC) cadets led by the gruff Major Gus Bonner. The initial episode literally opens with Bonner having been framed for a variety of war crimes by a shape-shifting alien. When said shape shifter opens the stargate to allow SGC to become infiltrated by Tlak'kahn (the show's main enemy) agents, Bonner is left with little choice but to flee through the gate with four young recruits and a cocoon of whet they believe to be one of "the Ancients".

Without the option of returning to Earth before having cleared Bonner's name, the team finds itself on the run, forever hopping between gates, a jump or two ahead of the reptilian Tlak'kahn, who followed them from SGC in pursuit of the cocoon (the logic being that whoever aligns themselves with the only living example of the race that built the stargates, would naturally have mastery over them).

Though technically a serial, the show used a pretty ingenious technique to allow the writers and viewers the luxury of standalone plots by ending each episode with the team diving into the gate (and hence the next episode opening with them emerging at another).

Episode pacing is swift and always conclusive with only the major story arcs (which unfortunately never got resolved due to the untimely cancellation of the show) carrying over from one episode to the next.

The setup typically works off the tried and true premise of the SG team arriving to an alien world and encountering some or all of its inhabitants, sharing an action laden experience among them (while trying not to interfere with their culture), then escaping onward toward the next destination. Of course things tend to get heated in the instances where the Tlak'kahn show up through the gate behind them. Fortunately the show makes it a habit of relying upon pretty solid writing to accomplish its goals, oftentimes slipping a valuable life-lesson into the prose for good measure.

I've often heard it compared to the type of formulaic actions of iconic 80's cartoons, but as an 80's animation connoisseur, I can state with absolute certainty that Stargate Infinity is much, much more polished in every conceivable unit of measurement. And speaking of polish, the visuals are quite nice with bright, clean character models and backgrounds with slick CG interludes/ splice cuts.

I suspect much of my own delight with the property stems from the following: First the animated medium allows the very limits of what was conceivably possible in a form that no live-action effort (especially one on a television series budget) could possibly duplicate. Be it locales (underwater worlds, planet-wide scrap yards) or creatures (feathered bird men, translucent alien hybrids), the cartoon isn't forced to play by the restrictions of costumes, animatronics or hokey CG.

Secondly, what few reviews of the property that do exist tend to be uselessly negative (the main complaint, it seems, is that people purchased the set mistaking it for one of the live-action Stargate shows and rated it lowly out of frustration). Lack of pre-purchase consumer research is hardly a reason to bash a property.

Finally, it's rather intriguing to observe the integration of bright visuals, chipper personalities, and youthful enthusiasm in the Stargate universe, a place that has been, until now, pretty drab. The contrast isn't only interesting; it's actually kind of refreshing.

In all, in the event that my review hasn't suggested it up until now, I found Stargate Infinity to be quite a pleasant surprise. About my biggest complaint to the whole affair comes in the form of the show's premature cancellation, which ensured that none of the main story arcs would reach definitive conclusion: A crime that would usually destroy a serial beyond salvation lessened by the simple fact that, as stated above, the show doesn't rely upon a centralized arc to get the job the done. This complete collection is a worthy addition for most animation collectors, Gater or otherwise.

star gate infinity
this is a cartoon it is okay to watch keeps you intrigued to see what happens next but to me wqasnt worth what i paid

Stargate Infinity
unless you want this to complete a stargate collection or you have young kids don't waste your money.

STARGATE INFINITY: THE COMPLETE SERIES
This dvd wasn't what I had expected, it was animation, not live. However, it was interesting and almost as captivating as the original STARGATE series. It was well worth the price, and (I think) a "must-have" for any Stargate collection!

EXCELLENT!
We love all things Stargate! Excellent! Wonderful! Very different from the television series of SG-1 and Atlantis - but still innovative and interesting.

Just finished watching Deadwood & got really into it! Never much cared for westerns. I’d watched Eastwood’s Unforgiven years ago & really enjoyed that. Tombstone as well.
What are some other gritty westerns out there, classics or newer?

Fair Quality ~ Partially Edited Robin Hood Series
For the price, the set is fairly good although it is apparent that very little restoration was done by the company(Mill Creek / 2009 Version). The famous opening Robin Hood song ( I was looking forward to that) was cut from the beginning of each episode so this set should be listed as partially edited with little, if any, restoration. Perhaps a fully restored, unedited, version will eventually be released of the entire series.

Hood for the Good!
The Adventures of Robin Hood: The Complete Series is just that...COMPLETE (Richard Greene) series. No regrets and just as I recall growing up. This series has held up well and I see new things that I didn't recall from days gone by. Enjoy this well-made series.

The Best Robin Hood Series ever....
With his classic hero charm, superb acting and good looks,Richard Greene creates
the perfect Robin Hood in this 1950's long running British series. After catching a few episodes on TV, we instantly fell in love with the series, and bought this DVD for an excellent price. I recommend this DVD entirely for Robin Hood lovers who never seen the true Robin Hood, Richard Greene.

Robin Hood. Classic television and an absolute joy !
Having never seen this series on television and with only reviews as a guide, I purchased all 143 episodes and braced myself. What an absolute joy this turned out to be. Charming characters, distinctive good guys and bad guys, interesting stories and all with a little touch of romance. After watching nearly half the episodes, the series has still not yielded one bad episode or lost any of it's charm. Each episode is a 25 minute upbeat investment that makes you feel good and positive. As an added bonus some of the first episodes have snippets of commercials from the 1950's imbedded in the opening. Great stuff.

The sound quality is respectable, and aside from the black and white tones lightening or darkening slightly with each episode or occasionally taking on a greenish hue, this is highly watchable. The local peasant characters, the castles, the sword fights, and the knights in their period costumes make for a television series that you will look forward to watching. America has westerns and the British have their medieval romps. Robin Hood is a gem that gets the highest recommendation.

Great TV
This is the TV that I grew up on and the Adventures of Robin Hood simply is "Great". I watched every episode when I got the DVD and will again and again.
Music, history, action, chivalry and good lessions learned - it's a great show for both the young and old. Thanks Amazon for the trip down Memory Lane. TV Land should put this show for others to enjoy!

You know, the one where he goes into the bathroom and sprinkles talcum powder around and it ends up looks horrendous? My boyfriend and I want to watch it but can’t find it!
Thanks

I’m trying to do a New Year’s quiz and one of the questions is: “Which American TV series set in the 1870s helped two of its lead actors become pop stars?”

I’ve googled the tv series and the answer I came up with is Deadwood, but I don’t know who the main actors were who went on to become pop stars… TIA
